Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!'s January premiere, PSP game, Nendoroid figure plans also announced
King Record's Starchild label announced the staff and cast for the Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai! (Listen to me, girls. I am your father!) television anime series in a streamed press conference on Saturday, and it also revealed that a Nendoroid figure and a PSP game is in the works. When it premieres next January, Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai! will be the newest anime based on a light novel series by Tomohiro Matsu after Mayoi Neko Overrun!
The "slapstick at-home romantic comedy" revolves around Yūta Segawa, a 19-year-old college freshman who suddenly discovers that he must become the father of three girls. Segawa had just gotten into college and settled into his first semester with new friends, but the plane that his older sister Yuri and her husband were riding went missing. As a result, Segawa has to watch over the middle school girl Sora, the fifth-grader Miu, and the kindergartener Hina in his tiny 3-meter-by-4-meter (9-foot-by-12-foot) apartment.
Itsuro Kawasaki is directing the project at the anime studio feel with assistant director Kei Oikawa. Naruhisa Arakawa is overseeing the writing staff that also includes Yoshimi Narita, Masaharu Amiya, and Keiichirō Ōchi. Takashi Mamezuka is designing the characters based on Yuka Nakajima's original novel illustrations, and Toshihiro Kohama is in charge of art direction at Studio Bihou.
The cast is as follows:
Wataru Hatano as Yūta Segawa
Sumire Uesaka as Sora Takanashi
Eri Kitamura as Miu Takanashi
Hiromi Igarashi as Hina Takanashi
Yui Horie as Raika Oda
Daisuke Ono as Kōichi Nimura
Junji Majima Shuntarō Sako
Sayaka Ohara as Yuri Takanashi
Kitamura will also sing the unnamed opening theme song, while Horie will sing the ending theme song "Coloring." The opening theme's CD single will go on sale on February 8, and "Coloring" will ship on January 18.
Bandai Namco Games will release a game for the PSP handheld system, while Good Smile Company has Nendoroid figure plans. Character song CDs will start shipping on November 9. The official website is streaming a commercial for the first CD, Sora-Iro, for Sora Takanashi (Uesaka).
