2ch Forum's Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 Round 3: Groups A-H

The Anime Saimoe Tournament is an annual poll in which users from Japan's 2channel message board vote on the most moe female anime character of the past year.

Almost any female character in a television anime, anime film, original video anime (OVA), or web anime released in Japan between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 is eligible for the tournament. The main exceptions are characters from 18+ anime, who are not eligible.

Foreigners are technically capable of participating in the tournament; English-language instructions on how to vote have been provided by an Anime Saimoe fan site.

Out of the remaining 16 characters left in Saimoe 2011, all four remaining Puella Magi Madoka Magica characters — Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miki, Kyouko Sakura and Madoka Kaname — advanced to their respective group finals. A Certain Magical Index II and The World God Only Knows both have two characters moving onto the next round.

Leading popularity votes for this round, first round leading vote-getter Mikoto Misaka, of A Certain Magical Index II, returns to the top of the polls with 613 votes. Kyouko Sakura and Sayaka Miki from Puella Magi Madoka Magica rounds out the top 3, gathering 532 and 519 votes respectively.

Saimoe is currently continuing with group finals voting to determine top eight. ANN's next results report will be posted shortly after October 26 when the quarterfinals matches have been decided.
