2nd Amagami SS Season Gets New Director, Head Writer
posted on by Egan Loo
The official website for the Amagami SS anime franchise announced on Friday that the previously revealed second season will have a new director and series script editor. The official Twitter account for the Amagami game/anime franchise's support site also announced the title and premiere date for the second season: Amagami SS+ plus next January.
Tomoki Kobayashi (Rozen Maiden, sola, Tears to Tiara, Utawarerumono) will helm the new season instead of the first season's director Yoshimasa Hiraike. Similarly, Noboru Kimura will take over from Yoshimasa Hiraike as series script editor; Kimura has been a writer on both seasons. However, writer Touko Machida, character designer Hiroaki Gohda, supervisors/collaborators Kisai Takayama and Toshihiro Sakamoto, art director Maho Takahashi, musical composer Toshiyuki Omori, the animators at AIC, and the voice cast are all returning in their respective roles.
In an interview on the official site, Kobayashi said that the new season will be similar to the first season; it will be an omnibus in which each heroine gets two episodes devoted to her. However, he added that the staff will include more original story elements set after the first Amagami SS season.
