posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official Twitter account for the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva musical rhythm game confirmed on Monday that the "fake" Vocaloid character Kasane Teto will be available as a downloadable content module on Tuesday. The announcement was made on the Nico Nico Live service on Monday (October 10) to celebrate Teto no Hi (Teto Day).
Kasane Teto (pictured at right) first appeared as an April Fool's joke Vocaloid character on the Japanese website 2channel in 2008. She was falsely advertised as the next Vocaloid character after Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Len, and Kagamine Rin.
The original Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA video game was released on the PSP system in July 2009. A downloadable software titled Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Dreamy Theater, which allowed users to play the PSP game through a PS3 console, was released in July 2010. Sega released a sequel, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd, in July 2010 on the PSP.
On November 10 Sega will release Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- extend on the PSP, and the Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- Arcade game was featured at the 2011 J-Pop Summit Festival.
