Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai PSP Game to Bundle Dating Sim
posted on by Egan Loo
Bandai Namco Games revealed on Thursday that it will sell a limited edition of its Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable game with a second bonus PSP game on January 26, 2012. The first promotional video is streaming on Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable's official website, and it highlights the limited edition's contents.
The bonus Kirameki School Life SP: the wonder years game will be a dating simulation set in a school. Kirameki School Life SP represents "a certain game" that appears in the story of the original Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Portable light novels.
The limited "Bishōjo x Zannen x Game = Chō Zannen Box" will also include:
- Exclusive box illustrated by light novel artist Buriki
- Visual archive booklet with production design materials
- Special contents DVD with a "live drama" (using the same Live2D computer-animated technique used in the game itself), game commentary, and other content
- Set of three different clear plates with exclusive illustrations
- Card with a product code to download a custom PSP theme with wallpaper and icons
- Exclusive label illustration on the game UMD
The game adapts Yomi Hirasaka's Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai romantic comedy light novels, and a television anime adaptation of the story is also in production. In the story, Kodaka Hasegawa is a half-Japanese/half-British transfer student whose delinquent-like blonde hair scares people, while Yozora Mikazuki is a seemingly perpetually sullen girl. The two decide to form Rinjinbu, a club for people with hardly any friends.
The "Bishōjo x Zannen x Game = Chō Zannen Box" will be produced in limited numbers for 10,980 yen (about US$143), while the regular Rinjin Pack edition will sell for 6,800 yen (US$89). The anime is premiering on Thursday at 25:55 (effectively early Friday morning at 1:55 a.m.)
