The official Twitter account for public relations of the Keroro Gunsō (Sgt. Frog) franchise revealed on Sunday that Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype Ace magazine will announce a new project by creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. The October issue of Newtype Ace will officially go on sale on September 10. Tomino created such classic anime titles as Mobile Suit Gundam, Ideon, and Aura Battler Dunbine.
Keroro Gunsō's public relations was reporting on Tomino's discussion segment at the Chara Hobby 2011 event in Chiba, Japan. The public relations representative emphasized that Tomino's latest is a "new project" that is still just an idea, and not yet a "new work."
In an interview in Enterbrain's Otona Fami magazine in March, Tomino revealed "for the first time" that he has plans for directing a new Ideon work. However, Keroro Gunsō's public relations representative did not state that Tomino's new project will be Ideon, nor did the representative state that the new project will be anime.
