Hatsune Miku Virtua On Robot Design Gets Action Figure

posted on by Egan Loo
Virtual On's Hajime Katoki drew Fei-Yen robot in style of Vocaloid virtual idol

The September issue of Hobby Japan magazine revealed on Monday that an action figure will be made of the Hatsune Miku redesign of the twin-pony-tailed robot Fei-Yen from Sega's Virtua On game. The collaboration began when Hajime Katoki, Virtua On's original mechanical designer, drew a variant of Fei-Yen in the style of Crypton Future Media's virtual idol for the February issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Newtype magazine.

Sega then went the opposite direction and created a design of Hatsune Miku in the style of Fei-Yen. The Fei-Yen costume version of Hatsune Miku appeared in the music video for "melody…," a song by the musician "Mikuru396." This song will be in November 10's Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- extend rhythm game for the PSP system.

Another Katoki re-imagining of a popular female character, a mecha exoskeleton for Haruhi Suzumiya, was made into a Composite Ver. Ka figure earlier this year.
