Atelier Meruru Game Held Back in Japan Due to Rating
posted on by Egan Loo
Japan's Computer Entertainment Rating Organization (CERO) announced on Wednesday that it is retracting its A (for All Ages) rating of Gust's Meruru no AtoriE: Ārando no Renkinjutsushi 3 (Atelier Meruru: The Alchemist of Arland 3) game after CERO determined that some of the game's graphics did not meet the rating's requirements. As a result, Gust has put further shipments of the PlayStation 3 role-playing game on hold, even though the game already went on sale on July 23.
According to CERO, part of the role-playing game's graphics were "inappropriately" listed as all-ages. After an investigation, CERO determined that this was the result of these graphics not being included in the documents that the developer submitted to CERO. Gust will create new documents for CERO to reevaluate, and it is also preparing to resume shipments of the game with a new rating mark once CERO decides on the rating.
Meruru no AtoriE: Ārando no Renkinjutsushi 3 serves as the final part of the Atelier role-playing games' Arland trilogy.
