posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Japanese conglomerate Bandai announced on Tuesday that it will sell a line of cosmetics featuring the character Lum-chan from Rumiko Takahashi's Urusei Yatsura romantic comedy manga. The "Love Darling Cosme" series, from the Creer Beaute cosmetics brand, will feature eyeliner in both black and brown, and mascara. The Lum-chan eyeliner and mascara will go on sale on July 29. The eyeliner will be sold for 1,260 yen (about US$16), and the mascara will be sold for 1,575 yen (about US$20).
The target audience for these cosmetics are women in their late teens and 20s. Bandai's press release describes the cosmetics as giving women "big and beautiful eyes just like Lum-chan."
In 2007 Creer Beaute began selling bath powder sets, mascara, and eyeliner based on The Rose of Versailles shōjo manga classic. The company also sells eyeliner and mascara products based on Nodame Cantabile, as well as mascara, eyeliner and lip gloss products based on Lupin III.
