Universal Studios Erects Monuments to 2 One Piece Heroes
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The amusement park Universal Studios Japan has built monuments to two heroes from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece pirate manga and anime franchise. The monuments replicate those depicted in the manga and anime during the "Marineford War" arc. (The linked page has pictures of the monuments, and contains spoilers for that arc of the manga and anime.) Near the monuments is a listening spot where famous lines from the two heroes are replayed.
The amusement park is also hosting "Sanji's Pirate Restaurant," a restaurant based on the cook character Sanji with One Piece-inspired food such as Luffy's straw hat bread, soup decorated with a shape similar to Sanji's eyebrows, and desserts for Nami.
Both the monuments and the restaurant are part of a "One Piece Premier Summer" event being held at the park, which opened on Thursday and runs through September 4. The event also includes musical performances by One Piece character Brook, promotional goods sales, an "Adventure Rally," and a commemorative photo opportunity with One Piece's Straw Hat Pirate crew.
The Gigazine website posted pictures of Sanji's Pirate Restaurant. The site also posted images of the event's stamp rally, "Teriyaki D. Dog," and other One Piece-related foods. Some of the exclusive items that Universal Studios Japan is selling are plush Chopper hats and hooded Chopper towels.
