Japanese Site Offers Recipes for Food in Anime
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Japanese company Clark Project has launched "Bistro Animeshi," a website that provides recipes for dishes from anime that people fondly remember from childhood. The recipes include step-by-step instructions with accompanying pictures.
Currently, the website offers recipes for the herring and pumpkin pie from Kiki's Delivery Service (pictured at right), spaghetti and meatballs from Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, Satsuki's homemade box lunch (bentō) from My Neighbor Totoro, mammoth meat (actually sirloin beef on a clay bone) from Hajime Ningen Gyatoruz, and ramen with ham from Ponyo.
The website will offer more recipes in the future, along with side dishes and instructions on how to make other items, such as the ceramic bone in the mammoth meat dish.
The Japanese portal site Cobs Online asked its users which food in anime have they wanted to try eating, and herring and pumpkin pie and mammoth meat were high on the lists.
