Hello Kitty & Friends Turned Into Zombie Mascots
posted on by Egan Loo
The capsule toy maker Kitan Club will be offering Hello Kitty Zombie Friends mascots in late September. Mad Barbarians, the artist duo of Katsuya Saitō and Masumi Itō, designed these official keychain mascots for Sanrio. Aside from Hello Kitty herself, the 45-millimeter (about 1.8-inch) mascots feature the characters (from top to bottom in the picture) Mimmy, Joey & Mory, Fifi, Tippy, and Tracy.
The mascots will be available in random lots in capsule toy vending machines in Japan for 300 yen (US$3.70) each. Mad Barbarians are best known for creating Unko-san — a character named after the Japanese word for feces which spawned two television anime series. Mad Barbarians have been collaborating with Sanrio on goods and apparel designs for both domestic and overseas markets since 2008.
