Skip Beat Creator to Draw Reader-Submitted Idea in Manga
posted on by Egan Loo
Skip Beat! manga creator Yoshiki Nakamura is taking suggestions from readers on what "dream situation" she should draw at the beginning of a Skip Beat! chapter that will be published in June, and the winning submitter will receive a Nintendo 3DS system. The official blog of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine announced the contest on Tuesday, and more details are provided in this year's 10th issue, which shipped on Wednesday.
Hakusensha is asking readers to submit ideas — via postcard or Twitter post until May 2 — for any situation they would like Nakamura to draw, along with the tagline text that will accompany the art. Nakamura will then take the winning suggestion and actually draw it on the first page of the chapter that will be published in the 14th issue on June 20.
Nakamura herself and the editors of Hana to Yume will judge the suggestions. The runners-up in the contest will receive two iPod nano music players, five portable DVD players, and 50 500-yen (about US$6) pre-paid Skip Beat! Tosho cards.
Viz Media published the 23rd volume of the Skip Beat! romantic comedy in North America, and Crunchyroll is streaming the television anime adaptation.
