3 Tokyopop Manga in Great Teen Graphic Novel Nominees

The American Library Association's (ALA's) Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) issued its list of the nominees for its 2012 Great Graphic Novels for Teens list on Friday. Only three manga titles made the list — all published in Japan by Hakusensha and in North America by Tokyopop.

High school student Nanoha is a normal, gentle girl, until confronted with her school's "prince," Hazuki Tokawa. When he's around, the two launch a battle of words.

Lady Kanoko prefers to watch her classmates and write down what they do in a journal rather than participate herself, until she unwittingly becomes involved with several of them.

Six kids grew up together as the children of shop owners at the Gingacho Shopping District. School drove them apart briefly, but they reunite to help protect their neighborhood.
