Drama CDs Turn Curry, Steak, Foods into Bishōnen
posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Starting on March 25, Avex is releasing a monthly six-disc drama CD series called "Isshoni Gohan." which anthropomorphizes curry, Hamburg steak, and other foods into bishōnen. Utako Yukihiro, an artist whose works has appeared in ASCII Media Works' Sylph and Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum, is illustrating the CD covers, and Sayaka Harada (Library War, Uragiri wa Boku no Namae o Shitteiru) and Daisuke Watanabe are scripting the project.
“Isshoni Gohan.” is set at a culinary institute where the students and graduates live in a mansion. There is the kind Hikari Yoneda, the very sadistic Rei Karasawa, the good big-brother-type Gunji Hanba, the down-to-earth Natsu Daitō, and the harsh-type Yōsuke Toriyama. The characters are personifications of curry, natto (fermented soybeans), fried chicken, and other foods; their names are wordplays on the different dishes.
The cast includes Yūki Kaji, Daisuke Ono, Kenta Miyake, Wataru Hatano, Jun Fukuyama, Tsubasa Yonaga, Hiro Shimono, Kenjirō Tsuda, Kenichi Suzumura, and Satoshi Hino. The characters that will appear in each volume throughout the series will vary.
