Vocalonexus is 2nd Vocaloid Album to Top Weekly Chart (Updated)
posted on by Egan Loo
The EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalonexus feat. Hatsune Miku compilation album sold 31,000 copies to top Oricon's album sales chart for the January 17-23 week. It is the second album with vocals created by voice synthesis software to rank #1, after last May's EXIT TUNES Presents Vocalgenesis feat. Hatsune Miku. That earlier album sold 23,000 copies in its first week and eventually sold 86,000 copies.
The CD features 13 tracks by Hachi, Onyū P, SCL Project (natsu P), and other musicians who used synthesized Vocaloid voices such as Hatsune Miku, Gumi (based on Megumi Nakajima's voice), Kagamine Rin, and Megurine Luka. The video for the first track, Hachi's Matryoshka featuring Hatsune Miku and Gumi, was played over 2.5 million times on video-sharing sites.
