Yen Press Seeks New Talent Submissions

posted on by Gia Manry
Unpublished artists asked to submit 32-page stories by January 3

North American publisher Yen Press announced that it is seeking new comic talent and issued a call for 32-page comic art submissions. Only artists who have not been published in the past may submit their work, and entries are due by January 3, 2011.

Yen Press said that artists of qualifying submissions "may receive a contract for publication" in Yen Plus, the digital magazine from Yen Press. Yen Press has not yet detailed how it will compensate the published artists or who will own the copyrights for the works.

In the past, Yen Press launched several original manga-inspired series, including Svetlana Chmakova's Nightschool. It has also published adaptations of popular American novels, such as James Patterson's Maximum Ride and Stephenie Meyer's Twilight.

Yen posted the original call for submissions in the new digital version of Yen Plus.
