Arc System Works Hints at New Guilty Gear Work

Arc System Works President Minoru Kidooka hinted at a new entry in the company's Guilty Gear fighting game franchise during the Evolution Championship Series fighting game tournament on Sunday. Kidooka stated that Daisuke Ishiwatari — the series' creator, composer, and character designer — was working on a "new work" for the series. Kidooka used the Japanese word "shinsaku" that is usually reserved only for completely new works. However, the translator on stage only said that Ishiwatari is working "on something Guilty Gear."
Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, the game's latest entry, was marketed as both a new entry in the series, and as a lower priced online update for Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. The game launched for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC in May 2017, and also launched in arcades in Japan in the same month.
The game included all of the DLC available for Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, and also included new story chapters for Jam Kuradoberi, Kum Haehyun, Raven, Dizzy, Answer, and Baiken.
