This year's 25th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine teased on Monday that Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) manga will have a "super important announcement" in the next issue on May 28.
The domain name "neverland-anime.com" was registered in April. A Twitter account for The Promised Neverland manga launched at around the same time.
Shirai and Demizu launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2016, and Shueisha shipped the manga's eighth compiled volume on April 4. The manga has 4.2 million copies in print in Japan. The 22nd Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize nominated the manga earlier this year.
Viz Media is serializing the manga in its digital English edition of Shonen Jump, and is also publishing the volumes in print. The company shipped the third volume on April 3.
The manga's supervising editor previously stated in February that the manga had reached its "turnaround point."
