Capcom, Colopl Sign Cross-Licensing Agreement for Games' 'Multiplayer Functionality'

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

CAPCOM and social gaming company Colopl announced on Tuesday that the two companies have entered into a cross-licensing agreement "for patents relating to multiplayer functionality" in CAPCOM's mobile and online games, beginning with the Monster Hunter Explore game for iOS and Android.

CAPCOM noted that the agreement promotes the production of content and greater freedom in development for both parties.

CAPCOM released the Monster Hunter Explore smartphone game in 2015.

Colopl's smartphone game Battle Girl High School previously inspired a television anime adaptation. The anime premiered in July. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime, and streamed it on HIDIVE as it aired in Japan.
