This year's 25th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Naoshi Komi's Nisekoi manga has more than 10 million copies in print. The manga's 22nd compiled book volume shipped in Japan on April 4, and the 23rd volume will ship on June 3.
Komi's original manga revolves around Raku Ichijō (Kōki Uchiyama), a normal high school student who happens to be the heir to a yakuza group. The attractive but violent transfer student Chitoge Kirisaki (Nao Tōyama), the heir to a rival yakuza group, transfers to his class, and the two must pretend to date to keep a war from breaking out between their families.
The manga inspired a television anime series and an original video anime in 2014. The second anime season premiered in Japan in April 2015. Aniplex of America streamed the series on Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Daisuki services as it aired.
Viz Media is publishing the manga in English digitally and in print. The 15th volume shipped in North America on May 3.
