GameBusiness Site: Platinum Games Founder, CEO Tatsuya Minami Resigns

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Japanese video game news website GameBusiness.jp reported on Thursday that Platinum Games' founder and president and CEO Tatsuya Minami resigned from his position at the end of March. GameBusiness additionally reported that Kenichi Satō has taken over as president and CEO, and that Seigo Tabira and Atsushi Inaba are now board members.

Platinum Games has not officially confirmed GameBusiness' report on its website or on any of its social media platforms. Minami is still listed as the president and CEO on the website's Japanese and English versions.

Minami worked at CAPCOM before he founded ODD, Ltd. in February 2006. The company merged with SEEDS Inc. (founded by Inaba) in October 2007, and changed its name to Platinum Games Inc. Platinum Games celebrated its 10th anniversary in February.

The company's latest game, Star Fox Zero, debuted on the Wii U Thursday in Japan, and it will ship in North America on Friday. Platinum Games developed the game alongside Nintendo.
