The Psycho-Pass sci-fi anime franchise centers on Akane Tsunemori, a law enforcement officer in a near-future world where technology allows a person's propensity towards crime to be measured through a number called a "crime coefficient." This enables officers to act on potential criminals before they can perform any harmful or unlawful actions.
The first Psycho-Pass television anime series premiered in 2012. Funimation licensed the series for release in North America. A second season debuted in 2014, and Funimation similarly licensed and streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A film opened in Japan in January 2015, and Funimation opened the film in the United States on Tuesday, and in Canada on Wednesday.
