Saban Trademarks 'Ninja Steel' Name

Saban Brands filed an application on January 4 to trademark the name "Ninja Steel."
Toei's currently-running ninja-themed Shuriken Sentai Ninninger series premiered in February 2015, and marks the 40th anniversary of Toei's Super Sentai franchise. The story takes place after The Last Ninjer sealed away all the yōkai in the world. This lasted until The Last Ninjer's death, when the yōkai returned. His descendants, five cousins, battle the yōkai as the Nin'ninger.
Power Rangers Dino Charge, the current 22nd season of the Power Rangers franchise, premiered on Nickelodeon in February 2015. The series is based on Toei's Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger series. Saban Brands' agreements with Nickolodeon and Bandai America will continue until 2016. The new Power Rangers Dino Super Charge season will premiere on January 30.
Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger (Animal Sentai Zyuohger), the latest installment in Toei's Super Sentai special effects franchise with an animal theme, will premiere on February 14. A film featuring the 38th and 39th installments, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger vs. Ressha Sentai ToQGer: The Movie, will open on January 28.
