The latest issue of Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu magazine is reporting on Thursday that Koei Tecmo Games' upcoming Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita game is slated for release on February 25, 2016. The Famitsu.com website is currently hosting a thumbnailed image showing two different visuals for the game's PS4 and PS Vita versions.
In addition, the magazine will have a four-page article about the game, and will detail the updates to its "Yawaraka 2.0 Engine." (Dead or Alive 5 used the original Yawaraka Engine.)
Koei Tecmo Games announced at its Tokyo Game Show 2015 booth in September that it is considering making the game compatible with the PlayStation VR headset.
The game's PS Vita version is titled Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Venus, and the PS4 version is titled Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune.
Koei Tecmo Games had originally announced the game on August 2, but the announcement had said that the game would be "made exclusively for Japan and Asian market."
Tecmo released the Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game on the Xbox in North America, Japan, and Europe in 2003. In the game, players play as one of the women from the Dead or Alive fighting game series and partake in volleyball matches as well as other beach-related minigames and shopping. Tecmo released a sequel, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, on the Xbox 360 in North America, Japan, and Europe in 2006.
