posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Composer Akira Yamaoka will contribute a musical track for Ovosonico's Murasaki Baby side-scroller game. Yamaoka worked with Ovosonico music producer Gianni Ricciardi on the soundtrack.

Yamaoka signed on as the composer for Konami's first Silent Hill survival horror video game released in 1999 and continued to work on the franchise as the composer and sound designer, and also as a producer and scriptwriter. Yamaoka also composed the music for the the 2006 Hollywood live-action film adaptation.

Yamaoka left Konami in 2009 to join Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture video game developer in 2010. He then composed scores for the company's Black Knight Sword, Shadows of the Damned and Killer Is Dead games. He also worked with Bandai Namco Games and Suda 51 on the Short Peace game tie-in, Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day.

Yamaoka will attend Japan Expo 2nd Impact in San Mateo, California on August 22-24.

Murasaki Baby is slated for release in Europe for PlayStation Vita next month.
