Viz Media - Anime

by Bamboo Dong,

The panelists, all members of Viz's marketing team, started by discussing their latest property, MÄR, which has a DVD release date of June 12. It will air on Cartoon Network this fall, alongside Prince of Tennis. The company will also be releasing the Naruto movie, as well as “Naruto the Lost Story,” a 45-minute standalone OVA.

The movie will be released under the Shonen Jump Home Video brand in September. It will also premiere in select theaters around the country in June for one night only; locations, dates, and trailers can be viewed at Naruto.com. Naruto the Lost Story streets on May 22, and will be followed later in the year by a novelization.

Zatch Bell will join the Toonami Jetstream lineup in March; the online streaming service currently includes series like Naruto, MÄR, Prince of Tennis, and others.

In regards to the highly anticipated Death Note, there are no concrete details available yet. However, there is a possibility that the first volume will be available in the fourth quarter. It will contain both subtitled and English dubbed tracks. Plans for deluxe packaging are in the works, but nothing has been confirmed.
