Ah, a port of the mobile version no one liked. Didn't even update the UI to not be the garbage sliders from it. What a sad disaster.

Its sad that they didn't even really try to make this good, FFVI is one of the best in the series and deserves better >.>

How do we know they didn't fix what was wrong with the mobile version?

As someone who grew up playing Final Fantasy 1 on the NES and every subsequent title after that, I personally hope they leave it alone. FFVI is my all time favorite game to this day, I still own it on SNES and play it every few years.

I saw the recent trailer for the FF7 remake and yes it's gorgeous but without the traditional turn based fighting system, it's just another button masher with improved graphics.

I know I'm living in the past and traditional turn based style JRPG's are pretty much a thing of the past, I'm excited the older titles being re-released for future generations but I hope they leave it alone.

VI has always topped my list for the installment most deserving of a remake, more so than VII. I might cut down the unnecessarily large number of playable characters a bit, but that's about all. Celes still stands as one of my favorite heroines in all of FF. She's much too good for Locke. The Wikipedia article notes she is also Kitase's favorite of the VI characters.
