And if I'm guessing right, the movie still has 22 days left in theaters. Hopefully, a modest final 2.25 Billion+ JPY gross wouldn't be much to ask.

I wonder which franchise has made the most overall: The idolmaster franchise or the Love Live franchise?

Idolm@ster has several years of existence on Love Live, so I'm pretty sure it'd be hard for Love Live to catch up. Love Live does seem to be generating cash faster though.

Love Live just keeps getting more successful. This film must be really good. As for Sunshine, I am looking forward to see how Aqours will perform.

You have to remember it took K-ON! 13 weekends or 86 days (December 3, 2011 to February 25, 2012) to reach 1.69 billion, and then it hit its final 1.9 billion total 2 months after that. Madoka took 13 weekends or 86 days (October 26, 2013 to January 18, 2014) to reach 2.06 billion, and it was last recorded at 2.08 billion yen in the 2013 yearly Box Office list, but it is estimated to have ended at around 2.25~2.3 billion.

LL is probably at the "halfway" point, basing on how long K-ON and Madoka had regular updates before we had to wait for half-yearly/yearly updates. It has most likely already passed the 2 billion yen milestone as of 43 days (June 13, 2015 to July 25, 2015). In my opinion, I think even 2.25 billion is low balling its final total. I'm guessing a conservative 2.35~2.45 billion final total... but I would not be surprised if it passes 2.5 billion.
