For what it was, I thought it was a fun, cute little show. I enjoyed what I saw. Something more for the rental shelf, but not a complete waste of time to watch

Something to mention is that this set does not contain the short OVA that came out later. It's just a half-length episode of jokes about cake but it's a shame not to include everything.

I rather liked this one myself, though I certainly noticed how it spent so much effort putting together a four-person main cast then ditched it. It felt a little more like "immature teenager goofs around" than "cute girls doing cute things", but maybe I'm splitting a hair.

A small thing that it did that made the "goofy new friend of the week" part slightly more tolerable was how all those character appeared in the background from time to time from the first episode. Just the fact that they don't pop into existence just for their spotlight episode makes it feel a little less contrived. A little.

I liked the dramatic material at the end because I thought it was an interesting contrast; I didn't expect a goofy characters like Torako to have fairly serious problems at home. I can't argue that it was particularly good, but I liked how it didn't over-reach itself, either; while this material isn't funny, it's not really supposed to be that heavy, either, and nor does it come to any sort of conclusion, maintaining the breezy atmosphere.

Well, I saw the first episode a long time ago, but from this review I think I'll pass. Already got enough pointless high school stuff to get through.
