Hmmm... that's interesting. Hopefully that will mean some cool guests, but not mean that other publishers will be shut out. BL is too small a field to have a con based around a single brand.

The main thing is that it won't be fan-led which so far seems to have been a license for debauchery in hotel hallways and convention rooms. I doubt they'd shut out publishers. That'd be a big turn off for the fujoshi. On the other hand, this move could've been made because of the new BL publisher announced today. Who knows.

I find it strange that yaoi-con is moving here a year before Anime Expo moves out of L.A. Wonder if there's any connection there or if it's just coincidence.

Well, at least it's close to home, and as a fujoshi, this pleases me.

I'm sad that it's moving. I don't think there is a more appropriate place for Yaoi-Con to be than San Francisco area, and that is going to make it considerably more difficult for me to go. I'm still hoping to go every year, but it'll be more expensive and a long journey.

It'll be interesting to see how much the con changes with DMP in charge. I tend to prefer conventions run by fans (even though I go every year, Anime Expo is a nightmare and not so well run in my opinion--as opposed to Fanime, which is always delightful), but we'll see. Hopefully it will continue to be as fun, open-minded, and silly as always.
