Well, at least she's feeling better. ^^ Hopefully she takes her time getting back into the thick of things.

So glad she's feeling better. X3 and I think you forgot to add "Put her Nana manga on hold". Had to read that sentence a couple times. xD Anyways, thanks for the update. Razz

I hope she doesn't feel obligated or forced to continue Nana if she's ill. Health always comes first. Glad to hear she's okay.

I never got into Nana but I love her other works.

Wow, that sounds like quite the illness. I hope that if she still wants to draw manga she can start again soon.

Glad she's feeling better. I wonder if all the stress which came with her career played a role in this (Nana is one of the most popular shoujo manga in Japan.) I hope she does not start working again (if she does) until she feels 100% prepared to.

She had put her NANA manga last summer due to the sudden illness

Should that be: She put her NANA manga on hold last summer due to the sudden illness?

As for the article itself I hope she feels better. I wonder what exactly was wrong or if she just was under stress.

Fantastic news that she's getting better. The comment about "not picking a pen up" since her illness began has me worried. I'm an artist, and the only thing that could stop the habit of drawing would be a hand injury of sorts, or something all around that just sucks the life out of me. I hope she returns to drawing soon though, no one does Shoujo for my age group like her.

The not knowing "if" she'll get back to work really is troubling, not just because it will leave NANA in the lurch but because it means whatever is happening is serious enough to jeopardize her career. Hopefully things take a turn for the better and soon.

It will be like The Mystery of Edwin Drood if she never finishes it.

It's good to hear she's maybe getting better.

I hope she can overcome her illness overall. It must be bloody horrible having to spend so much time in a hospital.
Good to know she's feeling better.

Well the most important thing is her health, not some manga. Hope she gets better, and if she returns to her drawing then great, if not then I hope she takes care of herself.

This. I would love for her to complete NANA (especially since it seems like it's somewhat close to being done), but I didn't realize that her illness was this bad (I guess it makes sense since NANA has been on hold for almost a year, but it seems like it's more serious than most people thought).

How sad I didn't know. I love NANA as well as her other manga. I hope she feels better. I would hate it if she had to stop writing. Oh well, her health comes first. (My prayers go out to you Ai Yazawa) Hang in there and get well soon.

Yeah, I thought 'hand injury' too on this...

One of my favourite manga-ka, Yoko Matsushita (Descendants of Darkness) had to put her work on hiatus for years due to a hand injury, although hers was much more serious (she actually had to change hands because of it). She's recently gotten back to it after 11 years. o_ob

But hopefully it won't be like that. ^^ I've only recently gotten into her works, they're really, really good.
