Viz released everything it had licensed of Beet back in the day, and doesn't currently offer it digitally, so I'm sure Viz doesn't have the license anymore.

For Viz to release Volumes 13 to 17 it would also have to literally reprint the entire manga from scratch, and while Banana Fish was able to get away with something like that because it had a brand new anime airing at that time via Amazon, Beet has nothing like that to help promote re-releasing the manga.

In fact, the newest release Viz had from the duo behind Beet, Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai, might have actually underperformed since Viz only ever released the first story arc of that, & then stopped.

I had no idea this series had never ended, but a 10 year hiatus? Oof!

I also didn't know that they continued it. So am also surprised at this. Read a few of the volumes Viz released back in the day, but not all.

The headline gave me a heart attack, but it’ll only be gone for one issue, so that isn’t so bad, especially compared to how things used to be…

Looks like Togashi has some competition here.

It’s only going to be absent for one issue, which isn’t that crazy.

It's just that Jump Sq.Crown is a quarterly magazine, so missing a single issue means that there's a half-year break between chapters, so I can understand why it's being called a "hiatus", despite it being for just a single issue.

Compared to it’s original hiatus when it originally ran in jump no.

Going on hiatus in a quarterly magazine after previously going on a ten year long hiatus is honestly embarrassing. Wonder if the manga will ever end.
