2 short arcs comprise about 3 volumes before The Culling Game and that arc is about 6 volumes long. A 26-eps order comminung right up. One final arc follows thereafter and it is its own 2 cour beast if the arc/manga truly ends this year. No reason it won´t.

We´ll see what sort of turnaround times will be damnded and the only way to do films is either 2 now or never make any again. Can´t wait to see the 3rd new director... and then the 4th.

Hopefully they can take their time and no more production hell this time (that was such a PR nightmare for Mappa and I am glad Mappa staff and freelance animators spoke out), if it gets released on 2026, that should give them some margin for adjustments

Not cool Mappa. You shaved Thorfinn but you didn't even tease season 3 but Jujutsu is getting already a sequel. Then again, Chainsaw Man's cliffhanger...

If I wanted to start reading the manga where it picks up after the Shibuya Incident arc, where would I start?

To the surprise of no one but also probably to the despair of MAPPA staff if this produced in any way like season 2 has been.

S2 ends with Chap 137 in Vol 16. The anime slightly extends the manga (like Vinland Saga s2), with movie 0 having 50% more content and retroactive canon.

I’m not looking forward to this at all, with how most likely this will be another production hellhole, and how I did not enjoy the Culling Games, to the point where I actually have dropped the JJK manga. The jury is still out as to whether I will actually watch Season 3, but for now, consider me off the JJK bandwagon.

Sorry for my negative two cents. Crying or Very sad

Someone is being a bit naive and optimistic. S2 set a new standard for the studio, it showed the higher ups that the staff can produce a 2 cour show in a short amount of time.
And now the very same staff has to work on the CSM movie since it's the same production line.

Ehh not quite, many of those "staff" were freelancers, who actively spoke out and left the production and company. Freelancers can very easily say no to working with a company they hate.

Oh, I cannot wait for the discourse around season 3. Razz

I hope the staff are treated way better next time, and I also hope people don’t use production trouble as an excuse to hate on the show.

I fear both hopes may be in vain.

I hope it doesn't come out for a while; I want to enjoy the great material coming up without any caveats.
