Oh no, this hits hard. I grew up watching Studio Pierrot shows like Urusei Yatsura & Kimagure Orange Road and met Yûji Nunokawa twice, one time in Germany at a convention and three years later at the Tokyo International Anime Fair. He was a kind person and remembered me the second time we met. I was even allowed to visit Studio Pierrot thanks to him.

Rest in peace, Nunokawa-san.

Studio Pierrot did the animation for some of the best series back in the day. Fushigi Yuugi will always remain in my heart.

RIP

Thank you Nunokawa-san for the old Pierrot era - original Urusei Yatsura, Creamy Mami, Kimagure Orange Road, Yu Yu Hakusho, Flame of Recca, Hikaru no Go, Fushigi Yuugi, GTO, and many other notable things that you produced and planned, and your studio made.

Rest in peace.

He was involved with many anime classics I enjoyed as I got into the anime fandom.

RIP Nunokawa-san. Thank you for your immense contribution to the medium.

Sad Another legend gone but thank you, Nunokawa Yuuji-san for all of the anime that you have contributed on. I am very grateful, to have been able to have watched few of the biggest anime series that Studio Pierrot's founder has worked on...

Pierrot was always one of my favorites. Thank you for all the magical girls, Nunokawa-san. We very likely might not have had them anymore without your studio. Rest in peace.
