Having watched the PV for the OVA, I'm kinda surprised by how much they're putting into this one-hour special. From it and the other promo material, it seems to covering Chapters 83-90 (at least). So that's spoiler[covering the contest for drawing up the Perseus, the introduction of Ryusui, assuming they're going to introduce Dragos at that point because they're talking about finding the oil needed to fuel the Perseus, exploring and expanding the Japan map in pursuit of the oil fields, and then there's the flight in the hot air balloon.] That just seems like a LOT to fit into one OVA, and it makes me wonder how S3 is going to start. Will they rehash the OVA into the start of S3, similar in vein to the starting arcs of Dragon Ball Super, or will they be starting from the end of the OVA? If they start from the end of the OVA, I really hope that means Crunchyroll will get the rights to stream the OVA prior to any rights for getting S3, as it would be really confusing to go into S3 without it. I mean, I hope they get the rights to it no matter what, as I want to watch it period.
I guess if S3 does start from the end of the OVA, spoiler[we'll be halfway through the Age of Exploration arc, and maybe that'll mean they'll air the entirety of the Treasure Island arc for S3 (probably be needing a 2-cour season for that), which would be pretty cool. Definitely excited for that arc to be animated.] |
