An actual Fairy Fencer F sequel?

And with songstresses? Are we Ar Tonelico now?

Nothing says this is a sequel. Not in the video, nor the article. I'd also like to pont out IF/CH is known for their spin offs and side games that aren't sequels. Maybe this is canon to the OG games or maybe its not, but so far sequel hasn't been said and u'd think that'd be a head liner they'd use if it truly is a sequel... seeing as this is a tactics RPG game, I have 0 interest in this, why couldn't they just have kept the OG game play... here's hoping this truly isn't a sequel becus I don't wanna play a slog game (Thats what Tactics RPG games r to me sadly, takes way to long to finish the map battles to advance the story and just not that fun for me in the tactics department either for how the battles and planning work in tactics RPG games)
Disclaimer: I haven't played either FF games yet, ADF has been on my backlog for some time now... (ADF for thsoe that dunno is the OG game + new content and more story on top of the OG game's story being present still, so not worth to play the OG FF game anymore)

I don't really care if it's a sequel or spin off and the change in gameplay as IF had multiple game with such system which were good enough, i really liked both the original and ADF so i'm sold.

It's definitely not a direct sequel, I can say that much based on the trailer. Well, not to the original FFF, anyway. This might be what I needed to encourage me to go back to ADF. It's been eight years, but I remember the original relied a lot on spoiler[multiverse travel], which is a pretty easy enabler for spin-offs and non-linear sequels.

Fairy Fencer's battle system was already basically turn-based tactical, so this seems like a natural step forward, rather than a radical departure.

Interesting. Compile Heart games- which are typically rife with potential, and questionable in execution- are the closest I have to guilty pleasure games. The Fairy Fencer game might have been might have been their best so far, so I'm curious to see how they spin it off, or if a sidequel somehow becomes a sequel due to multiversal shenanigans.

I just hope they limit how grindy the gameplay is.

I'd be happy with another Ar Tonelico. I always preferred those games to the Atelier titles.

Got super excited too before I saw it was SRPG.... not a 100% deal breaker but definitely a lil disappointing. I really enjoyed the characters in the previous games though, so it might still be fun.

I think AT ended up being in rightsholder hell or something, hence it being pretty muich replaced by Surge Concerto.
