I hope treatment works well for him. It certainly makes sense that he needs to step away from voice work right now.

This is so heartbreaking. I figured he was going through some health issues since he had to cancel a few con appearances + a couple shows he's in have been delayed/put on pause, but I couldn't have imagined it was stage 4 colon cancer. He's so young. I really hope he's able to pull through all this.

Oh God, I heard about his health issues, but I didn't think it would be this serious! I feel so bad for him.

I hope he can take all the time he needs to rest and recover. I'm glad the VA community is being so supportive.

Isn't stage 4 cancer's survival rate is very low even with extensive care and treatments? Oh noooo.... Sad

This is heartbreaking and frightening. He is only a few years older than me and such an aggressive cancer is going to be a long fight. I pray he recovers and it’s nice to hear he’ll be with family for support. Not sure what kind of insurance he may have (is he SAG?) but I would definitely pitch in to a GoFund Me. I will never not be depressed knowing GoFund Me is required for some people to survive a medical emergency.

To the extent he’s a union member, he is likely fi-core, since he’s done work for Funimation and they’re not union. He may or may not get enough union work to qualify for SAG-AFTRA’s health plan: https://www.sagaftra.org/financial-core

This honestly hit me harder than any news in recent months. I wish there was some way we could help him through it.

I had the chance to meet him at an anime convention a few months back and he was a riot. Billy is such a positive person from what I gathered. I'm wishing him nothing but the best as he battles cancer. If any type of GoFundMe is set up for him, I will gladly throw some money his way. :c

Not always. If you catch it early enough, even if Stage 4, it can be treated. Of course, that depends on what type it is and the aggressiveness.

My mom has Stage 4 Breast and its largely stable and hasn't made much movement for 10 years. The same however couldn't be said for my Grandma who was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away after 39 days but she also had C.O.P.D as well.

Hoping for the best for Kametz.
