The trailer is a little bit spoiler-heavy imo. If you haven't read the manga, I wouldn't recommend you watching this one

100% agree with this. Trailers often have a bit, but this was too much imo.

The final portion is clearly moved into that rumored film. So all the mess at the end is exorcised into it.

Going by this trailer...it most certainly looks like the "final" anime season is going to end before the final arc.- the poor anime only folks are going to get a crappy cliffhanger.

Kind of not surprised at this. It would too good of an opportunity to make more money for Pony Canyon to pass this. I suppose I should be glad that at least the series will be adapted in full in some format. I know AOT itself is far from perfect, but its presence in the anime community does define a generation.

Kind of funny the two reactions in this thread are that the trailer either shows way too much and spoils important endgame things, or it doesn't show enough and so it's proof that the final chapters will be adapted as a movie. Which is it?

Thought the trailer was just the preview of the next episode involving the 14th rematch between Eren and Reiner. No idea how is the pacing going to be as I think it shows that famous sniping scene from Gabi

I bet the rumored concluding film will be named, drum roll please, - Attack on Titan: The Last -. To confuse everybody as much as possible because the anime (film) industry simply doesn´t know better!

What is more final than final? We will find if the medium truly changes. I will never get why the production committee needed to rush S4 on the screens if the end result turned out to be a staggered release. I wonder how they feel what the ending caused a controversy in Japan and abroad. And don´t get me started on the reactionary tankobon only epilogue. Pick a lane!

Where is any of this coming from? The trailer only really shows stuff that will likely be adapted into the first few episodes. Which is typical for an anime trailer. Additionally, with only 23 chapter left to adapt and 12/13 episodes to do it (and knowing the content) I can see the show being finished this season. So I'm not really sure how you are getting a "this confirms there is a movie" vibe from the trailer. What am I missing here? I don't follow your logic. Furthermore, can you define "controversy" for me? If we define it as readers having a temper tantrum about the ending then I guess every single manga that has ended over the last 10 years has had a "controversial" ending.

It does actually show a bit too much as far as I'm concerned

Not necessarily endgame things, but events that are pretty important. The trailer will undoubtedly generate a lot of hype with these short and intense flashy scenes but I'm afraid that a lot of people are able to connects certain dots.

There's not even a rumour about a movie, and after last parts' episodes, there's too few chapters from the manga left to adapt for those to be adapted into a movie. None of the people here saying there's a movie are making any sense.

A movie would make very little sense narratively. There’s not a nice self contained portion of story from any cut off point to that would stand alone, it would just be “bunch of episodes stuck together to finish the story off”. I concede, just because it’s artistically a poor choice doesn’t mean that’s not what the bean counters have decided.

Personally, I think with decent editing you easily cover the last bit of the story in the remaining 12 episodes.

Oh I definitely agree. As frustrating as that would be, I can see a world where a film is made to cover the last few chapters to make ALL the money. My argument is that I see NOTHING in this trailer that confirms that this is the case and having people like residentgrigo somehow claim that it does makes the opposite of sense.

I think people are trying to extrapolate Demon Slayer Mugan Train's success to prove that a broad, dynamic shift is occurring within the Japanese anime industry. A move where studios will focus on theatrical releases instead of TV series...but I have seen little data, evidence, or news stories that proves that this is the case.

The new OP song with its occasional screaming growls sounds like something Retsuko would sing at Karaoke.
