This was the expected outcome since they didn't release any news on the 20th anniversary date of the manga back in August and it obviously didn't air in October. April release it is since the news is starting now.

Doubt about that, Bleach is not much of a suited to be a milking cow for merchandise only even in it's prime days and barely do now. And the only sequels they can do are based on LN - but usually they are overlooked and rarely made into TV series.

I'm so looking forward to this despite the wait, after this long what's a few more months. It would be even better if there was some tinkering with the story but I'm not going to hold out too much hope of that. I'll just be glad to see it animated so I can have the full collection. I'll be even more excited to see who that add to the cast for the new characters and hope they get everyone back for the regular cast.

According to the schedule, there's also a "Secret" announcement scheduled for 9:00 on 12/18. The common rumor right now is that it might be the announcement of a new anime adaptation of Bastard!!, as a new "bastard-anime.com" domain was apparently registered not long ago, so I guess we'll just have to wait & see what happens on that day.

As for the return of the Bleach anime, it sure took a while, but at least it'll finally happen. It's rare that an anime gets to return via an actual continuation about a decade after the original series ended.

I can not believe that in 2022 the Big Three will be airing at the same time again! What a time to be a fan! Bleach is one of my all time favorites and I can not wait to see the last arc animated!

Hope the anime fixes the flaws of the thousand year blood arc, like how the ending is so incredibly rushed and lame but we will see.

Oh, I dearly hope you're right about this. The OVA for Bastard!! was probably my favorite ever 'con viewing experience back in the day, especially in the uncensored (i.e., retaining all of the music references) version. Would love to see more of it done.

As for Bleach? I'll watch it in the completist sense, as it sounds like it will be the Bleach equivalent of Inuyasha Final Chapter. But it won't be something that I will be eagerly anticipating, especially after hearing about all of the flaws with Thousand Year Blood War.

Many people hope that the anime will be able to fix some of the issues with the final arc, especially the rushed ending.

I just hope they give Ichigo a bit more stuff to do rather than trying to look cool. He was pretty much deadweight in this arc despite his importance, especially when spoiler[he has a huge exposition about how Zangetsu's appearance is based on the leader of the Quincies. Five seconds after using his bankai, the weapon is destroyed.]

News.....on possible Bastard!!! Did anyone tell the mangaka this news??? I figured that since the manga is not finished I'm thinking how much will possibly be animated, or cut out from the actual manga (let's face it..some of the manga is straight hentai).

Should be interesting if any of that happens and if it will be available outside of Japan.

There's 27 volumes of manga to Bastard!!, so there's way more than enough content. Also, despite what people think, Bastard!! is NOT "straight hentai" (outside of the three literal hentai doujins Hagiwara made, but that wasn't until after 2000). I read all 27 volumes last year (I had only read the first 20, in the past), and I was actually surprised at how comparatively chaste the manga was during the fourth story arc, especially after it switched over to Ultra Jump in the middle of Volume 22, i.e. the point where everyone just assumed it went "straight hentai", simply because it moved to a seinen magazine. The violence has always been there, though.

Is Bastard!! horny & sexual as all hell at points? Absolutely, but it never truly enters outright hentai territory (the closest is one bit in Volume 27, & that was added in specifically for the tankouban), and I'd even argue that some anime that have aired in the past few years have gone further with their sexual content than Bastard!! generally did.
