This is actually a very good spin off that tries to stay as close as possible to Kurumada's original vision. It's a shame Toei really dislikes the notion of making an effort with everything involving Saint Seiya, meaning the anime adaptation was quite subpar.

Toei even just foisted it to GONZO to work on it instead, shows how much they couldn't even give a fudge about it (at this point, Kurumada should just terminate the anime rights from Toei and give it to another company), it's literally the Saint Seiya equivalent of the 1978 animated Lord of the Rings film as an adaptation, to where I'm surprised we didn't hear Inori Minase say at the end of episode 10 that "Eris' evil forces were forever driven from the Earth by the Cosmos of the mighty Saintias of Athena. As their trying battle ended, so too ends the first great tale of Saint Seiya: Saintia Sho."

How is the manga going, just wondering? I haven't finished it yet (only up to volume 5 so far), but it's still way better than the anime could even hope to be.

Meanwhile, redhaired Aiolia cries in the corner wondering why his series never got an anime.

God bless anyone that tries animating Episode G. That thing's art is firmly in the impossible-to-animate category, IMO, if they wanted to try an capture the feel of the art.
