Outside of previous collaborations made prior to separating (fire force season 2 for example) I wouldnt expect much to be shared going forward with crunchyroll outside of some new super popular shows (dragonball if it ever comes back would probably be a good example of it being on both platforms).

There is alot to dig into with this article though. It's nice to see that they are slowly moving into parts of Latin and south america and expanding their influence.

I also knew it might be coming with that mystery tweet they made a few days ago but I'm still surprised that they are bringing Naruto over to north america through their streaming service.

So what about Latin American countries other than Mexico/Brazil? And will they not have English subs? I’ve heard many LatAm people online say they prefer english subs/dubs. Also there are a lot of Spanish speakers in the US, will the Spanish subs/dubs be available in the states?
Anyways, hopefully all Funimation seasonal simulcasts from now on will be streamed in Mex/BR at the same time as in the US.

Also see that Shippuden dub is still in Toonami jail. Unfortunate that the US gets basically the worst platform to watch it, while UK and Australia can watch the whole thing in the same place.

And I know there are a lot of Europeans that would like Funimation to stream over there. In some countries the only site they have is Wakanim Russian in regions where no one speaks Russian.

Funimation Films is partnering with Aniplex of America to release Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-Hen) in theaters in North America.

So....that's gonna be a while with how bad the US is dealing with COVID-19. Still worse than ever and getting worse as I speak. Lul...

Also I hope they go all out on this when it's safe to do so. Violet Evergarden was only in like 5 states or some garbage. But this is Kimetsu, their biggest thing in years. If this isn't in every big theater chain in every city with a population over 100,000 then they're doing it wrong

Interesting that Funimation freed their hands of the original Higurashi-When they Cry Anime and yet decided to license the new series. I'm glad that someone's got it either way, but I still find it curious.

Another thing why even announce the Demon slayer movie coming to theaters with the way things are right now. Like just release it on your streaming service and get an influx of subscriptions and boom your done. And yea people can say people will use the free trial and then cancel well I’m pretty sure you can mitigate that by making the movie watchable once the free trial time ends. Or just do a single day pass you pay for it and get access to that movie for 24 hours and watch it as much as you want during the 24 hours and like maybe bundle the episodes with it to marathon it all and maybe that would warrant the price for a single day pass.

About the new streaming going to Mexico/Brazil, I've heard that the dubbing studios for the Spanish dubs will be recorded in...the Miami based The Kitchen alongside their subsidiary in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

As for Brazil, it will be handled by a Sao Paulo based studio called Dubrasil.

I heard these two studios have their own share of issues (The former have barely hidden accents and from what I heard of the latter, they tend to hire graduates from acting school as the main leads with mixed results.) But here's hoping they take good direction on these series.

Funimation did mention a year ago when they showed off the new subscription tiers that the plus ultra would give like 3 movie rentals per month or something (and it said to be announced later). So what your asking for may in fact already be in the works.

Yeah, I was a little surprised by that. Maybe they're hoping that it being new will produce better results? A lot of the stuff they license rescued was fairly old by the time they released it, and older stuff tends not to do as well in general.

Wakanim thinks Central and Eastern Europe are ''parts'' of Russia. Most youths(including me) in Central and Eastern Europe(except Russia,Belarus and Ukraine) doesn't speak and/or understand Russian. What on earth are they thinking? Is this intentionally? Is it a ''politically motivated'' or not?

I don't even want to spend money on Wakanim because it's in Russian and it has Russian subs instead English subs. I want Funi to expand to all Europe including the Baltics (god willing).

The following anime will debut on Funimation's streaming service in North America in July:

SUPER HXEROS (Dokyū Hentai HxEros): July 3
DECA-DENCE: July
Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!: July 10
Lapis Re:LiGHTs: July 4
Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigation Season 2 (subtitled): July 7 (all of Season 1 (subbed) launches the same day as Season 2 premieres)

Welp, even Uzaki-chan won't be streaming in Crunchyroll after all. CR still losing to Funi. Funimation wins while Crunchyroll losses continues.

Pretty weird to say Funimation wins when we don’t even know if those shows are good or bad. Like there’s a chance they can all suck and one be good or some good some bad, also who cares about who’s winning I always found that stupid like who really actually cares whether Funimation is on top or if Crunchyroll is on top. It’s like the stupid console wars crap people do each generation of consoles Xbox is better than PlayStation or PlayStation is better than Xbox like really it’s just sad.

Zero hype on brazil... specially after hearing a Brazilian voice actor(Hermes Barolli) that now works on netflix english dub productions used his influence for this to happen so could he used his voice acting studio and he changed the voice cast of MHA anime dub with newbies... most of the MHA movie cast was pissed as hell specially All might voice actor(Guillerme Briggs) who had a feud with him due saint seiya dub long time ago due payment disagreement and accusations of mistreatment of voice actors and later Hermes even used Political speech on twitter against Briggs... Funimation should not let that piece of human shit do the dubs after that

The Spanish cast of the movie also got replaced with a Miami-Cuernavaca co-production, which is not looked fondly by the LatAm fandom mainly for quality reasons. It's currently unknown if there was some power play from certain figures like the Hermes example or was cost and licensing issues, in which for Spanish dubs, can be quite messy.

For those of us who can't watch Funi shows but can watch Crunchy shows, it's not about "PS x XBox" kind of feud. It's about if we will even be able to watch it. And when you see Funi getting more and more shows every season, all you see is more and more shows you will be unable to watch. That's what this is about. The moment Funi will offer their shows in my region on a service that does not require me to know Russian language, I'll stop caring if they are winning over Crunchy or not. But until then, every show Funi is getting means show I will not be able to watch. And that's sad.
