Well, twice it's spelled as "Bugmaster", and once as "Busmaster." ^_- I can't say that I'm thrilled with the title choice, either.

In all fairness, it *is* the literal translation of the title. That aside, this poses a few issues, one of which is that the Mushi aren't bugs nor are they on the type of "existance level" like other organisms. Maybe "Mushi Master" or "Master of Mushi" would be more acceptable, but sticking with the original, untranslated title of "Mushishi" gives it more of an definitive identity than that of the simple, yet slightly ambiguous moniker of "Bugmaster." I hope that it retains its name, but I'm not entirely sure of just how likely that will actually be should it be released stateside.

Eh, I can look beyond the title and enjoy the movie should Otomo do a proper adaption of the source material (still, Bugmaster?). Even though episodes three and seven are far from my favorite ones from the anime, episodes twelve and twenty were one of my favorites from it so should Otomo stay faithful I can't say that I'll find much fault with the live-action movie whenever I see it, through legal means or not.

Hmm...I'd like to check it out, if I knew Otomo was gonna be there....But it's only got a 6.1 at IMDB, so maybe it's not worth the trouble...

Otomo-sensei has quite the variation of animated works. This title, something out of a 50s cheesy sci-fi movie, is quite a distance from his ingenious work of Akira.

Heh. "Akira" isn't exactly an ingenious title either; it's just an ordinary Japanese name. If it had been released in the US as "George," what would you think of it then?
