Good. These things should be decided in court instead of the ridiculous mob law and lynching that's actively practiced after the #metoo blew up.

Well that's it. Now we can finally settle this matter once and for all. Also this is my opinion for the moment but I'm still siding with vic based on what I have seen, however if enough proper evidence is shown and he truly is in the wrong than ill accept it. Cause what people say is more or less unreliable as anyone can lie. But hardcore facts are facts so let's see where this goes.

I don't know what to say about this that won't get me in trouble.

I guess I'll just say I'm surprised he actually did it.

Considering he has to prove that the people that acted against him both a) were actively acting in reckless disregard for the truth, and b) purposefully were trying to harm his person, I hope he has something to show for himself. Funimation already conducted an internal investigation

It's despicable that he roped Rial's fiancee, of all people, into this ordeal.

Good, it should have been handled in the courts to begin with based on the allegations, and not in the court of public opinion as it is with everything these days. This whole situation has been like watching a car crash in slow motion, with each event making it more unbearable and toxic than the last. Just end this thing already. If he was fired for the wrong reasons, he’ll get his money and then probably sue Rooster Teeth next. If he did do something worth firing over, then the truth will come out and his fall from grace is gonna have a pretty ugly ending. Either way, it sucks that the situation has been pushed to this.

Have you followed this at all? He didn't rope Ron into anything. Ron's interrogatory section in the original petition is longer than everyone else's because he's acted as an agent for Funimation and defamed Vic over 400 times. He's getting a 20lb box of papers.

edit: and do you even know anything about that "internal investigation"? One of the complaints was he ate one of Monica's jelly beans. No, seriously.

Well at least this will quell the people rambling for a legal outcome.

Edit: his career is pretty much done for honestly but not a big loss to me at least.

There is already at least one factual issue with this lawsuit. The bit about Funimation contacting ANN on the 5th of February specifically to tell them that they were no longer working with Vic. That does not appear to have happened. This will undermine his case.

And suing Funimation for termination after an internal investigation will open the door to having that investigation introduced into evidence in a court. This will not go well for him. The investigation found sufficient grounds to terminate their contract with him, and that alone will likely be enough to cause him to lose this case.

Proving a defamation lawsuit is immensely difficult, especially when there is a public apology admitting to at least some of the accusations. This is another point that puts his case on shaky grounds.

thats not an error. ann says they didn't report on it. that doesnt mean they didn't have any contact to funi. actually, i doubt a lawyer would lie on a lawsuit. they are just not showing their cards. the truth about this will be know when the defendants provide the info requested in the lawsuit, a detail that ANN didn't mention in this article. that includes ALL internal communication between ANN staff and funi regarding that article.

That's going to be ridiculously easy to do thanks to Ron's 400+ page encyclopedia of derogatory tweets about Vic. Then there's the incident where Monica and Co. harassed the Kamehacon owner, (which Ty Beard and Nick Reiketa both confirmed via stream that they have those texts messages as evidence.) If anything, it's not looking good for the defendants in this case. Odd how the "alleged" sexual predator is the one taking them to court when realistically, it should've been the other way around. The fact that they've known about these allegations for years and not once has anybody filed a police report or have the man arrested is beyond baffling to me.

I fail to see how he has any solid case so I guess he's just praying Funimation settles with no admission of guilt?

I can't imagine him getting any voice work directing or acting after this no matter the outcome, and he's pretty much going to have to rely on convention appearances from now on (although he was slowly getting less and less ADR work post 2010-ish, so its probably been that way for a while).

Gotta love how he was "sorry if [he] ever made anyone feel uncomfortable", how he promised to "step away and reflect on [his] actions", "recommit to God and get counseling". What an exemplary good Christian Boy. I already had a poor opinion of him after years of hearing the stories about him -including that pathetic lie about "meeting CLAMP and they told me Fai isn't gay", but that he willingly allowed the alt-right to make him their martyr... and for what? Obviously he's not getting his job back. I don't imagine many cons will be inviting that one dude who sued a bunch of people for revenge. He's definitely not getting a million dollars, especially if Sony backs Funimation with their legal team. Even that phony gofundme has slowed down almost to a halt for weeks, even if that YT pseudo lawyet keeps posting videos and promoting it. I don't know a lot about legalese but what are the odds Sony decides to just settle for a diminutive fraction of the money Vic is demanding just so they won't have to bother with months of courtroom nonsense

rofl what? vic's attorney's are demanding everyone turn over all documents and communications related to the "investigation." they're doing that because it consists of three things, none of which amount of sexual assault or sexual harassment. they're not "opening the door," they WANT it introduced into evidence.

did anyone here actually read the petition or is everyone just LARPing Phoenix Wright?

Ron has over 400 accounts of defamatory statements against Vic. The investigation ended up inconclusive and funimation still fired him.

thats the funny thing. i dont even know that much about this, but a quick glance at the lawsuit just tells u is kind of heavy. for example, even if we beleive ANN clarification about them not reporting funi's decision of terminating the contract between them and vic(tbh idk if thats true or not, haven't read he article), theres a lot of info in the lawsuit thats very specific. like idk about the sony investigation. and those 3 cases the lawsuit refer to are gonna be challenged.
