The entire "computers ruined art" concept is so..... eeeeghhhh... but I'm glad they have at least one darker-skinned character who isn't "scrapping a living" (???).
It's the exact formula of cliches that will make most people call it "meaningful" and "important" and "uplifting" or whatever... but I find it reductive to break it down that way.

I think you're jumping to conclusions and assuming things. It's completely possible that Carole just wasn't born into money and is trying to get by as a broke musician. Which is entirely realistic for people of any race. I grew up with and around broke musicians of all different races. So I think you're focusing on the race aspect too much.

Additionally that's backed by the very thing you acknowledged at the start. AI in this series produces almost all entertainment according to the summary, making it likely hard for a musician to get work.

Also we don't know if it's saying "computers and technology are bad", clearly technology enabled them to live on Mars and that's a good thing. I think it's saying that solely relying on AI producing nearly all of your music, art, film, and so fourth, lacks a human touch. Which isn't necessaryily bad, but there's often a certain human aspect and relatable element with the arts that only humans can add to it. So maybe a middle ground of both AI and Humans producing various entertainment would be best.

In closing, I think you should try thinking of various different angles to approach the series. However maybe you're right and I'm wrong. Maybe I'm right. Both of us could also be wrong. I can't control your actions but I can simply say that it's best go into something new with an open mind.

Ohhh, Maaya Sakamoto! Considering her character profile is essentially a diva, is that mean we're going to hear her sing as well?
