I really do wonder if these will end up being early teases for Gen 8 and also what type they will be. With how the website makes it look, I am sure they will all have their own unique type regardless of whether or not these end up in the actual games but honestly, I think it's somewhat likely they won't remain Tamagotchi-exclusives.
We're lacking Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Dragon, Ghost and Steel type eeveelutions and out of those I think Poison, Ground, Dragon and Ghost are probably among the most likely candidates. Though the implications of a Normal type evolving into a Ghost type (and the method of doing so) are kind of macabre. |

The tease is a little misleading (or is being misconstrued). The new "evolutions" are apparently Eevee in different outfits. I believe one is wearing a Team Rocket uniform.

If you want to split hairs Eevee's base form is a normal type to begin with, making an evolution that's also normal type would be redundant.....and yes I know there's a number of PKMN that share the exact same typing in their evolved states. |

I can still honestly see them do an evolution in the future that retains the Normal type. Maybe not in gen 8 or even 9 but I wouldn't be too surprised to see one eventually that's basically just a bigger, more mature-looking version of Eevee.
Bummer though that apparently this isn't teasing new eeveelutions after all. |
