This feels realistic, I mean whenever I'm with my friends one of us often point out cosplayers to each other like "Oh! Look it's Sailor Mercury" or "Look, a shirtless Gray from Fairy Tail".
I like it because it feels like something that would happen at a con. |

The truly geeky reference here isn't the anime stuff. It's the name of the con and its logo. You don't see many Pynchon jokes in comics outside of Zippy the Pinhead.

Pretty much. I have accidentally been too excited and kept pointing at cosplayers and say "Look! They are cosplaying Kobato!" It always makes them happy. I say this too because I cosplayed a character from the manga Pita-ten and it was fun to see people point at me and tell me what character I am cosplaying! |
