By the way, I don't know there was an usual demographic for Shounen Jump. Shounen Jump is the most popular manga magazine in the world and I read Shounen manga is read by people from ages 7 to 70. Considering that One Piece, also a Shounen Jump title, is now mostly read by people between 18-29 the fact that a 24 year old reads it is quite expected.

He was only asked about it because so many other WSJ series have been getting them(Death Note, Assassination Classroom, Saiki Kusuo, Gintama, Bleach). He isn't actually saying that he thinks MHA will get one soon... he was just responding to the question. |

There is a difference between for whom you make something, and who ends up eating it. Demographic, or also known as Target Demographic, the "for whom" and not the "who". |

Oh yes... Bleach was a hit alright... Like a man hitting his wife in the face, or punching an elderly woman... That's why it got drove into the depths of hell itself and gang raped during the last arc. Sure it was popular at some point, but I'm not sure if calling it a hit would describe a manga with a successful conclusion. Usually when you call something a "hit" it means something with extreme popularity, that has gone beyond normal expectations in its presentation and what it has to offer. I don't think a manga that continued to lose popularity and sales, and had its anime adaptation pretty much cancelled and left unfinished describes what any normal person considers a "hit." Ugh... that rushed conclusion... so many plot holes... SO... MANY... PLOT HOLES...! More like glory holes! 
Anyways...! What initially attracted me to My Hero Academia was the amazing characters & designs, and for the past year and a half I've been extremely attached to this series. It's easily become one of my most beloved and all time favorite series. It's definitely got a ton of potential, so I just hope it doesn't fall victim to the same fate that something like Bleach had. You keep on being awesome Kohei-san!  You're doing a damn fine job!

While some live-actions I've been skeptical about, I think Hero Academia could do well with the right director. But I worry about some of the characters might look goofy in a real setting. Especially finding the right guy to play All Might.
While CGI would handle lots of that, but you still need to find a very built and tall actor to properly pull off All Might. Like finding someone like Kenta Kobashi. |

Indeed. I'm also pretty sure the biggest readership for the magazine is their intended one. Otherwise, there would've been a shift in the way WSJ is put together by now. |

Oh no, not a live-action movie. Almost all of the main characters have weird angular features that could never translate well onto regular people. There's a guy with a crow head, for crying out loud!
As for MHA itself, I'm really enjoying it. I find it hard to consider it the successor to the Big 3 however. While it bears TONS of similarities to Naruto, and had a sizable fan base, it's not received the attention those shows got. To do that, it would first have to air on TV. Then it would have to air at an earlier hour, which will never happen. Hear me out. I know people always complain about cut dubs, but those showtimes, the one for Naruto in particular (in fact, that one was relatively uncut when it was on Cartoon Network - it even kept all the blood) skyrocketed the series' popularity. Also, anime-only watchers will be surprised to learn that the manga is actually very fast-paced; it's already covered ten story arcs, something that took Naruto almost a decade to accomplish. If it keeps up the cour format, it won't do well compared to those shows. It's not bad at all (I gave it an 8 on MAL), but it is sorely lacking from what this guy is suggesting. |

Though I have only seen MHA and OP-M's dubs, I think OP-M would appeal more for a live-action version because it is darker and more violent. I think MHA might not do so well as a live-action since it was more childish/somewhat family-friendly.
