I liked the first couple of episodes, thought they were perfect and return to form for Bones. But the second half ruined it for me. Still, the cast is great and likable, animation is fantastic and the art is gorgeous, I just wish it was slightly more comprehensible.

The show was all over the place. The humor was typical slapstick nonsense I've come to expect from anime. I wanted to like it but the ending was so underwhelming and despite a few nicely animated action scenes, I wasn't very impressed with the animation.

I actually just finished watching this one myself; i loved nearly everything about it. The art is consistently gorgeous; my personal favorite example is in episode 3, where Klaus takes an Escher-esque highway to an Elder God-like "friend", and plays an absurdly complex game of chess with him. It's a simple one-off story, like most of the episodes, but the story is clever and smart, and the backgrounds and imaginative visuals are stunning. The series direction is also impressive; i had trouble following what was happening at times towards the end, but the high-octane action sequences thrilled, and the more quiet moments between Leonardo and White were touching and poignant.

This is definitely a series that would have benefited from a 2-cour run; at the end, we know next to nothing about any of the Libra members besides Leonardo, the whole vampire subplot is a gigantic hanging plot thread, and there's obviously a lot more story to tell here. I'm glad to hear it did so well in Japan, i'd absolutely be on board for another season.

I only watched like 3 or 4 episodes and found this show to be aimless and confusing. I'll probably give this show another chance at some point because it was pretty to look at. Maybe.

BBB is my favorite anime series from 2015 and one of the best anime shows I have ever watched. I continue to be surprised to hear people being confused and overwhelmed by Blood Blockade Battlefront. I feel that this has created divisiveness among the fans, and, unfortunately, many have missed on this fantastic show.

I think this anime should be watched by every fan of action and high production values.

I really liked most of the show, but yeah the ending disappointed me. It went from a crazy action show that felt like it never stopped running and had boundless imagination to almost crawling speed with an ultra typical "oni-chan~~~~~!!!" story.spoiler[ I liked white as a character, but it's like they stripped her of everything that made her interesting for the ending.] Crying or Very sad

I didn't think the show was confusing because it was pretty clear that there were plenty of stuff that were just never going to be explained and you just had to roll with it, which is much better than trying to explain everything and failing.

this show seemed to be super mega popular when it came out, but now NO ONE seems to care about it. it's sad because it is a very great series actually!

I enjoyed this show as it was airing, but frankly my love for it lessened with each episode from the halfway point on. I really, really wanted to love it, but if I want to be honest it was, overall, a disappointment. It's beautifully made, well-acted, enjoyable... but the writing was, well, not really a disaster but it dragged the whole thing down.

I wish they either hadn't done the White storyline, or focused completely on it. You could just tell this whole thing wasn't in the original manga, because every single beat of it was disconnected with the rest of the show, it might as well have taken place in an alternate dimension - toward the end of the series it was like we had two different shows running parallel to each other, one about Leo, Libra, the antagonists, etc., and one about Leo, White and Black. The couple of connections the White story had to the basic storyline were tenuous and uninteresting.

It's like someone really wanted to do this story about White and Black, and shoehorned it in into a larger story about something completely different, with disastrous results. The White story ended up being uninspired and cliché, dime a dozen anime story, with mostly uninteresting characters. And this took screentime away from the Libra characters who were endearing, interesting and fun, but didn't get the attention they would have deserved. The ending was along the lines of "these are the people who gave me hope" but it rang empty and false since we didn't see Leo establishing true connections with Libra, with the single exception of Klaus. Maybe.

Maybe they could consider airing this on Toonami to get a viewership boost since it sounds like the kind of show that would fit there. It's always a possibility.

Kekkai Sensen's charm is its chaotic randomness (not to mention its comedy, soundtrack, story, feels etc.). For those who stopped only after a few episodes, I recommend giving it another go Very Happy It starts off that way, but there are most definitely slower episodes that will explain characters' pasts and make you develop a place in your kokoro for them xD Plus you kind of get the hang of the randomness at some point & when you do finish the series, you might actually miss it lol well that's how it was for me. I'd say it's the same as giving up on Durarara!! because of its confusing beginning and missing out on the rest of the awesome series.

I've watched Kekkai Sensen three times, one of them it was the weekly broadcast, and I fell deeper and deeper in love with it. As most people, during the weekly broadcast I thought "this feels a little disconnected" or "this is a little vague", but when I actually paid attention I realized that it was just that, I wasn't paying enough attention.

I'm not gonna make a whole review of mine here, but I totally agree with Jacob, and I wanna emphasize (again) that Rie Matsumoto did one hell of an spectacular work here, her direction in the whole anime was particularly strong, and it truly made a difference in this adaptation, at least for me.

Loved the show and would like to try the English dub. For some reason, the show reminded me a lot of Baccano! even though the latter was to serious. Maybe it's because Baccano!'s "thieves" balance the series' dark tone. Kekkai Sensen has drama but it's never too serious. Just look at Leo's reaction to the ruined in the finale: spoiler[He starts laughing, he sees "Black" and starts running towards him regardless of the enemies.] It's like if Nightow decided Trigun was too serious and wanted to make a black comedy similar to how Rumiko made a really dark series, Inuyasha, and then went for a comedy, Rinne.

I remember watching it during the simuldub of the first episode to see if it was any good (it was) and thoroughly enjoyed both the sub and dub. I do wish that they used some of the side stories, especially explaining the backstory for the two vampires from the beginning of the series (turns and the side story going that was about chain, the other invisible werewolves, and how their abilities work. oh well.

I'm glad BBB did so well in Japan, and hopefully that success gives someone somewhere the idea to fund a Trigun Maximum reboot anime. It simply needs to be done.
