Wow. This is so sad. He's so young, too...

I loved PapaKiki, and it ended up straying away from creepy tropes to deliver a genuine, heartfelt story that's still one of my mid-tier favorites. It takes talent to take a premise like that and follow through with something that has actual substance.

My thoughts go out to his family.

How awful. I wonder what happened. And yes was so young...

I liked PapaKiki. One of the only light novel anime I enjoyed.

RIP.

Damn. That's heartbreaking. I haven't seen or read any of his works, but I've heard a lot of good things about Listen to Me, Girls. I am Your Father! like the comments above mine.

He was much too young to go. I wish his family and friends the best.

Wow. Really sad right now. I enjoyed PapaKiki and hoped it would get another season one day. Thank you for that and also contributing to Ixion Saga DT. Loved that series as well.

RIP

Wow, didn't know he was involved in Ixion Saga DT...probably my favourite anime to be adapted from a video game (though I think it's story isn't too similar to the game's). And, I'm also a fan of the PapaKiki anime. Sad to see him pass at a young age.

Always had hoped that PapaKiki would get a 2nd season...or, that it'd get a re-release from Sentai that included the OVA (like Waiting in the Summer did).

He mentioned "want to get well" (「体調戻って欲しい……」) in his 4/19 Tweet. Sad to see him go. RIP.

Loved his works. He was tasteful in a really tough genre with "Listen to me, girls" and Mayoi Neko was really enjoyable as well.

RIP.

Only 43... This is so utterly heartbreaking. I'm currently reading Mayoi Neko since I decided to follow the story after I've seen the anime and this happens. RIP and condolence to his family.

Rest in peace.

Regarding the comments about "so many dying!" that sometimes appear with these kind of news... no, it´s just a perception. I mean, relevant persons on manga and anime production (authors, editors, staff of all kind...), plus voice actors, light novel authors, singers, bloggers and other persons related to manga and anime, are in the many dozens of thousands. That´s JUST the relevant persons, whose death would grant a newspost, big or small.

In fact, "non-relevant" persons, simple workers, that are many more in number, should have better working conditions in some cases, and more coverage about their problems and potential struggles, but a few relevant persons that die of old age, or due to the usual severe illnesses, is nothing abnormal.
